Tell us about yourself. Tell us a little about your work.
I was the kid who distracted you in the back of class drawing instead of listening to the teacher. I’m the artist for “Listen to the Thunder” (independent werewolf comic) and I have two comic irons in the fire for horror anthology collaborations with Cullen Bunn, Kevin Watkins, Javier Saltares, Blaky Shepherd and Gary Bedell. Tell us about your experience with comic books. What is the first comic book you remember reading? What is your favorite single comic book story?
The first comic I remember reading was Greg Capullo’s “Creech”. The amount of detail and linework blew my little middle school mind. Subsequently he is my favorite comic book artist to this day. One of the greatest comic stories in existence “Astonishing X’Men” with Joss Whedon and John Cassady. Highly recommend.
What was the first convention you ever attended? What are your most vivid memories about that show?
HurleyCon in Joplin. Meeting Nathan Fox and awkwardly getting a commission from him. The cringe was real.
What comics, books, TV, and movies are you enjoying right now?
”Seven to Eternity” and “Batman White Knight”, read these! Channel Zero is a great cerebral horror show with fresh ideas.
What are you looking to most when it comes to Cave Con’s inaugural event?
I look forward to the artists coming and exposing Springfield to some great talent from all the guests.
