This goal is relayed from upper management to the mid-level anager. The manager then sets goals and standards of their employees ensuring that the goals set by upper management are not only set but also exceeded. It is very important that employee’s efforts are directed toward productivity and efficiency. The next obligation of a mid-level manager is to align your goals similar to that of other organizations. You should use other companies that are similar to yours as a benchmark to make sure you are keeping up to par on production.

Next as a mid- level manager you should support your employees efforts. The first thing you should do is eliminate barriers to your employees success. Next you should ensure that you are providing a safe work environment for employee success. You should do everything you can to allow your employees to be comfortable at work. This will promote a better work environment and more creativity amongst your employees. The last thing a mid-level manager should do is build the company. You should push yourself and your employees to come to work everyday striving to improve the organization.

The daily responsibilities of a mid-level manager are very important for the success of the business. Mid-level managers must energize employees toward goals set by upper management. These managers are responsible for establishing standard of their employees that benefit the organization and meet the goals that are passed down from upper management. These managers must also ensure that the products produces are up to standards. They need to push their employees to ensure quality of each product they make and distribute.

Another important aspect of a mid-level manager’s responsibilities is to offer feedback and suggestions to upper management on how to improve the company. The mid-level manager is the only part of the management team that sees the everyday operation of the company. They are the only one that is 100% hands on when it comes to management positions. That being said, most of the time they can provide great observations to upper management on how to better improve the company. Mid-level management responsibilities as a manager at BP are very unique.

They include meeting ever changing government regulations, relaying performance updates to the upper management team, and ensuring safety requirements set by the government are met by BP. After the BP oil spill of 2010, the United States government started cracking down on BP. These new regulations caused a ripple effect throughout the entire organization. This affected everyone from the CEO to the part-tlme Janltors. The relationship of mid-level managers to the other three positions is also very important. In relation to the CEO, the mid level manager is the last line of managers to enforce the goals set by the upper management team. This step is very important to the final outcome of the company. Without the mid-level manager enforcing these goals, the entire company as a whole would be in major trouble. With relation to the Vice President of Human Recourses, the mid-level manager must report current employees performances and also offer suggestions towards areas of need.

Within the BP organization there are a few things that I think should be changed to improve the company. Mid-level managers play a huge part of this change. The first thing a mid-level manager should change is toward increasing employee productivity. This will improve the company’s production all together. This can be done by offering a reward system for your employees. Managers should also better portray the company vision to its employees. As the company succeeds, so do its mployees. They should also establish and maintain a better working environment for the employees to succeed.

Managers should also train better employees. Training employees for success is detrimental to the success of the company. The last thing the mid-level manager should do is to establish better standards for their subordinates. Overall I believe the mid-level manager is crucial for the overall success of any company, especially BP. With the new government regulations that have been established to the everyday operations of the company, having a successful mid-level manager will definitely help to ensure future success of BP.
